Confidential Settlement Reached in Dram Shop Case

Connecticut Crime Victim Lawyer Tim O’Keefe has reached a confidential settlement on behalf of a man who was seriously injured in a drunk driving crash in Manchester, Connecticut.  “Our client suffered very serious and life-altering injuries in this crash.  The legal case was extremely challenging as we learned of information late in the process that was not particularly favorable to our liability claim.  With that said, we were still able to negotiate a settlement of the claim that will give our client some resources to help get his life back on track.”  Tim O’Keefe

Dram Shop Claim to Proceed to Trial in June

Connecticut Crime Victim Lawyer Tim O’Keefe will be on trial in a Connecticut Dram Shop Statute case in June, 2019.  “This case was filed against the operator of a bar in Torrington, Connecticut for its service of alcohol to an intoxicated person.  At the time of the crash, the bar patron was almost three times the legal limit to operate a vehicle.  There is no way this bar should have been serving alcohol to this patron by the end of the evening. That decision put the entire community at risk.  The patron drove drunk and caused a very bad automobile crash.”  Tim O’Keefe

Child Molester’s Home Obtained Through Foreclosure Proceeding

Connecticut Crime Victim Lawyer Tim O’Keefe has obtained the real property of a child molester for a client who was abused by that child molester when the client was a young boy.  “We sued the perpetrator and obtained a very substantial judgment against him.  We then started a foreclosure action on his real property and obtained the property through that proceeding.  It is very satisfying when we can hold child sex perpetrators accountable for their actions by obtaining just compensation for their victims.”  Tim O’Keefe

Settlement Reached in Trampoline Park Lawsuit

Connecticut Crime Victim Lawyer Tim O’Keefe has obtained a settlement on behalf of a woman who was seriously injured at the Launch Trampoline Park in Hartford, Connecticut.  “While the terms of the settlement are to remain confidential, we are very pleased with the result that we obtained for our client.  These trampoline parks are extremely dangerous.  In this case, the operators of the park failed to provide its patrons, including our client, with adequate safety equipment.  As a result, her risk of injury was increased significantly.  In addition, the defendants were attempting to rely upon a so-called “liability waiver” in defending the case.  We are pleased that we could overcome that defense and obtain this settlement.”  Tim O’Keefe
